Hi, looking to get a new laptop.I have 2/3 in mind at the moment but just can't decide between them! What i'm looking for: Decent battery, 2.5 - 3.5 would be fine  good build quaility, Not alot of flex.. The plastic on the side of my acer screen has two cracks because of cheap plastic. not to heavy, under 3kg.reasonably portability, not more than 15" I'll be using it for college/work.1: Sony vaio CW, this new model : http://www.elara.ie/products/detailsfullat.asp?productcode=MME558F346#speci3 - 330 @ 2.13GhzNvidia 330m GT4GB ddr3 ram14.1" 720 LED screen€8252: Dell studio 15" with i5 - 520 / ati 4570 (Should I got for 1080p screen or would 720p be ok? I have 720p on my acer 16" and seems to be grand)€7003: Sony E series: http://www.elara.ie/products/detailsfullat.asp?productcode=ECE1917705#speci3 - 330 @ 2.13Intergrated gfx4gb ddr3 ram15.5" 720p led screen€681Price/performance wise the dell is the best for my needs (I'm not to bothered about gfx card) but i'm concerned about build quailty, weight and I've read about some heat issues?Anyone have any of these laptops? What are your thoughts?Or if anyone has any other laptops I should consider? Thanks!

not looked at lots of laptops recently so dont know the market, but i always look at computer shopper website and other reviews sites before i buy anything to get a good idead of whats out there.

for me tbh, if i wasnt going to play games on it tyhen i wouldnt spend any where near the money your talking. I'd say £300-500 for a lappy for work or surfing is easily sufficient, £800+ for gaming.

Agreed, but I do need a fairly powerful laptop for working in visualstudio (resource hog!) and database stuff. My buget is around €800EURO that is.. £700 = €800

I have recently bought a new laptop. It has a following configuration:
  • Intel® Core™ i3-350M processor (2.26GHz)
  • Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-bit
  • Icy White
  • 320GB Hard Disk Drive (5400rpm)
  • 4GB (4GBx1) DDR3-SDRAM-1066
  • CD/DVD burner
  • No Fresh Start
  • Microsoft® Office 2007 Home/Student
  • Norton Internet Security™ 2010 (1 year subscription)
is there any suggestion for this because I want to play the high resolution games.
